My translation projects total about 2.5 million words translated, predominantly in technical, business legal, and information systems domains.
Translation Customers
I have had a total of 112 customers: agencies for one-off and regular jobs, direct customers count a total number of customers.
103 are agencies: mostly in France (54) and UK Agencies (16) and 8 direct customers.
Most of my customers are translation agencies, with some direct customers.

Of a total of 727 projects, most are French to English. By domain: mostly technical (157), General (141) and Legal (70).

Most of my projects are French to English translations and revisions, with some English to French translations and audiovisual projects which are either transcriptions or subtitling.

Most of my projects are technical, general texts, legal and business translation projects, followed by industrial, primarily from French to English.

The word count is greatest in Technical, Information Systems, Industrial and Legal and Business.

Projects by customer type and country
Most of my customers are in France, with all my direct customers in France. I also have customers in the United Kingdom, the United States, Belgium, Ireland, Spain, India and Egypt.
I participate in regular projects for a large dinnerware retailer manufacturer to localize product descriptions and content based on SEO analysis.
I translated a tourism website, Mon Escale en Morbihan and implemented the partial translation into Dutch, supplied by another translator.
Tools and Resources
We use term bases in Trados, Phrase, and Access, online dictionaries, and specialized glossaries.
Above are the numbers of terms used in projects, against a total of 150k terms which can be referenced in the technical translation database developed in Access (now being converted to Notion).
Translation Sources
There are a few good sites, notably Le Grand Dictionnaire Terminologique from the Quebec Government and Techdico. For more familiar words, I use online dictionaries such as Word Reference, which has associated discussion, Reverso and Proz.com terminology.
Quite often though, translation is about taking the time to look through the web, find technical data, product and process descriptions, definitions to fully understand the subjects in play.
